Success for CEATA Academy as they are recognised as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer!

CEATA Academy, established by Canal Engineering in 2013 originally to improve their own employees skills and qualifications, quickly expanded to offer apprenticeships and other programmes to engineers of all levels across the East Midlands after building an amazing team of tutors, and over £250,000 of investment into the academy.

Now for the second year in a row, the academy been recognised in the prestigious Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list, which is compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.

The list was announced at the National Apprenticeship Awards, which took place on 18 January at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

After a tough selection process the most exceptional apprenticeship employers from all of the National Apprenticeship Awards employer categories went forward to feature in the list, which showcases the breadth of employers who now offer apprenticeships.

Commenting on the company’s entry in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list, General Manager of CEATA, Karen Hodgson, said:

“We are truly elated to start 2018 with this award, which recognises the continued commitment to the apprenticeship programme by Canal Engineering and our fantastic apprentices, now winning the award 2 years in a row! ”

Canal Engineering is highly commended in the National Apprenticeship Awards 2017

Canal Engineering has been highly commended at the East Midlands regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2017.

The Awards, now in their fourteenth year, are run by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognise excellence in two areas: businesses that grow their own talent with apprentices and apprentices who have made a significant contribution to their workplaces.

On being recognised as highly commended, Martin Price (Managing Director) said:

“All at Canal Engineering are proud to have our commitment and investment in our apprenticeship programme recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service Regional Awards, East Midlands. Our apprentices are an asset to our continued business success and are at the core of our skilled workforce”

Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service, said:

“The National Apprenticeship Awards allow talented apprentices and committed employers from across our regions to receive well-deserved recognition for their apprenticeship achievements.

“The highly commended finalists at these awards show the range of sectors and variety of job roles apprenticeships are available in, and how they can deliver the skills employers need. I congratulate all highly commended finalists on their success in this competition.”

Canal Engineering Recognised as a Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer 2016

Canal Engineering has been recognised in the prestigious Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list, which is compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.

The list was announced at the National Apprenticeship Awards, which took place on 20 January at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

After a tough selection process the most exceptional apprenticeship employers from all of the National Apprenticeship Awards employer categories went forward to feature in the list, which showcases the breadth of employers who now offer apprenticeships.

This success follows Canal Engineering achieving ‘Highly Commended’ in the East Midlands Regional Awards in October 2016.

Commenting on the company’s entry in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employ list Managing Director Martin Price said;

“We are delighted to be included in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list which recognises the business’s commitment to our apprentices and to the apprenticeship programmes, which are delivered through our own Training Academy, CEATA. We are delivering the skills that our business and other local businesses need for the future and are investing in a new training centre to offer more apprenticeships”

Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service commented on Canal Engineering being named a Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer.

‘The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list 2016 demonstrates clearly the impact apprentices can have on an organisation. Apprentice employers are creating opportunities for individuals to gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed, up to degree level, while working and earning.

CEATA Wins SEMTA SME Investment in Skills Award 2016

On 10th February 2016, SEMTA Skills Awards celebrated the ‘Best of British Engineering’, recognising the talented people and inspiring businesses that make the engineering sector and exciting and dynamic environment to work in.

The CEATA Training Academy were shortlisted for the SME Investment in Skills award, alongside Pentaxia Ltd and Automotive Insulations.

CEATA went on to win the award sponsored by Jaguar and Land Rover, which was accepted by Andrew Lord on behalf of the Academy and Canal Engineering.

On acceptance, CEATA demonstrated an insight into the Training Academy and its achievements to date.

The whole team at the CEATA Academy, and everyone at Canal Engineering Ltd, is delighted to be recognised for their efforts in engineering since setting up the welding and fabrication training division in 2013.

CEATA is now looking forward to another exciting year working with new talented young people and helping the engineering industry grow one person at a time.
