The Training Academy


The CEATA Training Academy provides engineering training courses for ambitious people and employers with an interest in the engineering industry, specifically in welding, metalwork fabrication and mechanical engineering courses.

When you train with us, you will work in a real engineering factory and be taught by qualified professionals. You will use state-of-the-art equipment in a safe and controlled environment, allowing you to gain experience with industry-standard machinery while benefiting from support.

Successful completion of an accredited training course will provide you with a nationally recognised qualification, which will improve your career prospects and make you a more attractive candidate to employers.

Apprenticeships (page under construction)

All CEATA’s apprenticeships are now through the new Apprenticeship Standards and incorporate study at level 2 and 3, these apprenticeships take up to 46 months with day release or block release at CEATA. Durations and programme content vary depending on job role and current skill/knowledge levels please call us for more detailed information.

Applications are welcomed from those seeking to pursue a career in engineering who have some experience or who are new to engineering but have good GCSE grades in English, maths and science.

Pre-Employment Programme

This programme is for unemployed people who are looking to start a career in the engineering industry.

There are currently employers across the UK seeking certified welders and fabricators to join their companies. CEATA provides unemployed people with the opportunity to work for these employers via a government-sponsored training programme.

To enrol on this course you must be:

  • aged 19+
  • unemployed
  • motivated
