How We Work

CEATA Training Academy is not a college. We train students year-round at our engineering training academy in Nottingham.

We work with businesses throughout the East Midlands to provide training, apprenticeships and more. We’re passionate about developing students, giving them the skills to progress their career or secure an engineering role.

Beginner training courses

Our trainees utilise state-of-the art facilities while working in a real engineering factory with Canal Engineering. This allows them to benefit from real hands-on experience rather than focusing on a theory-only approach.

By working closely with our fully trained staff, students learn the skills to fit straight into an active engineering company. This also includes health and safety, and important qualities such as working well in a team, timekeeping and reliability.

CEATA is passionate about ensuring that our trainees learn the skills they need for a successful career, not just to gain a qualification.

Helping to put engineers into jobs

Our regular short courses and longer programmes mean that we are regularly producing newly qualified engineers who are looking for work. We have many ties with businesses in the East Midlands to provide apprenticeships and other roles for our students, while others may wish to continue training with CEATA.

Once one of our students is employed, that doesn’t have to be the end of their development. There is ongoing funding available to further a student’s ability, skill set and knowledge base via our engineering training programmes.

CEATA teaches more than just the basics. We offer a range of courses and apprenticeship programmes that are suitable for employers and their employees, and ongoing funding is also available to further your employees’ skills. Our expert staff can also guide you through the complex world of training and funding.
