Engineering Apprenticeships

Engineering apprenticeships are the ideal option to further your education while also gaining work experience as an employee.

You will perform real work in an engineering setting. This will give you valuable hands-on experience and proven skills in a particular engineering occupation. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will earn industry-recognised qualifications that follow a national apprentice framework or standard.

CEATA work with companies in the East Midlands to provide high-quality apprenticeships that teach you the skills you need to succeed in an engineering role. We have our own apprentices at our Canal Engineering manufacturing site in Nottingham. These apprentices study at CEATA alongside apprentices from our partner employers.

Engineering apprenticeships in the East Midlands

We offer several apprenticeship courses and levels, providing options to suit both learners and employers.

For 4 days a week, you will work with your employer, gaining practical experience in the necessary skills for your chosen pathway. You will then spend 1 day a week at CEATA to study and produce the evidence to support achievement of your qualifications. All apprentices must achieve Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths, and some may need ICT depending on the pathway.

CEATA’s apprenticeships include:

  • Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard (Machinist)
  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Programme: Fabrication and Welding
  • Advanced Apprenticeship Programme: Fabrication and Welding

Head over to our course list for more information about our apprenticeships. The entry requirements and the qualifications are included within each programme.
