Traineeship Course | Welding & Fabrication Training

For the Apprentice To Be

Are you looking to join the engineering industry but you do not have the knowledge, skills and experience to start your apprenticeship at one of the leading engineering companies in the UK?

The CEATA Training Academy offer a Traineeship course which will equip you with the necessary welding and fabrication skills, health and safety knowledge and importantly, a Maths & English qualification.

The Traineeship course will provide you with a high standard of teaching, which is recognised by engineering businesses across the UK and backed by the government.

If you are looking to start your new engineering career you may be able to access government sponsored places at The CEATA Training Academy by matching the following criteria:

  • 16 – 23 years
  • In receipt of Job seekers Allowance, Universal Credit or other benefits

The Traineeship Training Programme

CEATA is an EAL Ltd accredited training centre and upon successful completion of your Traineeship programme, you will be granted the following qualifications:

  • Work Preparation and Employability
  • Units of EAL Ltd – NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations
  • Health & Safety
  • Fabrication of Plate Work Assemblies
  • Basic MAGS Welding Techniques
  • Level 1 Maths & English

The Traineeship programme is a full time course delivered over 10 weeks (4 days, 30 hours per week), which will allow you to enter the engineering industry as an Apprentice or as a Trainee Welder & Fabricator.

These are both ideal entry points into full time employment, a new career and will give you the stepping stone to apply for the Intermediate Apprenticeship Training Programme.

We Offer More than Your Local College

The CEATA Training Academy is not a college and consequently we work the same business weeks in the year as the leading engineering companies.

You will be able to utilise our state of the art facilities while working in a real engineering factory hosted at the Canal Engineering manufacturing facility in Nottingham, NG7.

Integral to the success of your training is the valuable work experience given by local employers. These organisations support this scheme and recognise the importance of training their workforce. The work experience element gives you the opportunity to impress a potential employer.
